RACE 1 – CONQUEST POOLS PACE – 1740 metres

 

SOKYS FALCON– Pre-race swab sampled.

FANTASY BLASTER – Broke gait during the early part of the score-up. Tired over the concluding stages.

ESTHER RISING– Post-race swab sampled.

SPRINKLE OF LOVE – Tired over the concluding stages.

GELIGNITE JOE – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position in the running line at the rear of the field near the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 2 – HARNESS TRADING RING AUSTRALIA PACE – 1740 metres

 

JACCKA LUCAS NZ – Raced roughly near the 1400 metres.

WOODY LOMBO– Post-race swab sampled.

ALBERIO – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 3 – STEEL SUPPLIES PACE – 2270 metres

 

THE BLACK ASSASSIN – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

BABYITSCOLD– Post-race swab sampled.

DALVEY ROBYN NZ– A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance, Driver A Turnbull stated the gelding is really a sit sprinter, and felt if they could lead in the early stages in tonight’s field they then had the option to take cover if required. She added that once they weren’t able to lead the gelding was not suited racing outside the leader, and she attempted to obtain cover, however no other runner improved to allow them to get cover. She further added that given the circumstances she wasn’t too disappointed with the gelding’s run.

BARWEN STORM – Pre-race swab sampled. Tired over the concluding stages.

RED ROCK – Out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued. Tired over the concluding stages. Trainer/Driver S Hewitt was questioned regarding the performance; he stated that he was very disappointed with the gelding’s effort tonight. He added that it he was unable to get it on the bit from during the score-up or any stage of the race, which is the opposite of how it usually races. He further added that he was going to get the gelding’s blood tested in the coming days and would report the findings of those tests. A warning was place on the gelding for its performance.

 

RACE 4 – SUCCESS STUD PACE – 1740 metres

 

General– Due to storm activity near the course, this race was delayed until 8.20pm.

DANGERZONE– Post-race swab sampled.

ARE DOUBLEYOU – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1400 metres.

WILD IMAGINATION– Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 5 – VALE MEGAN FISHER – 2270 metres

 

General– Due to further storm activity near the course, this race was delayed until 8.55pm.

TROUVILLE– Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

SANDYS IDEAL NZ – Tired over the concluding stages and was beaten by a considerable margin, connections were advised the filly would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

MISTA MACNEEDY – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from ISLAND TEE REX near the 1600 metres.

RED ENVY NZ– Pre-race swab sampled. Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres. Tired over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 6 – BENSTUD 2YO PACE – 1740 metres

 

General– Due to the earlier storm activity near the course, this race was delayed until 9.16pm.

TOTHETRAIN STATION– Pre-race swab sampled. Inconvenienced approaching the 800 metres when HARPERVILLE broke gait.

HARPERVILLE – Raced roughly leaving the 1400 metres. Broke gait approaching the 800 metres and was retired from the event, Driver A Day stated that the filly’s head check bit came undone shortly after the start resulting in it racing roughly and breaking gait and her then retiring it from the race, which was supported by the patrol footage. Given the circumstances, no action was taken.

SPORTING RAGE– Inconvenienced approaching the 800 metres when HARPERVILLE broke gait.

FE FE ON FIRE– Inconvenienced approaching the 800 metres when HARPERVILLE broke gait.

MISTER QUIRK – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 800 metres.

LETS TURN IT ON– Made a three wide mid race move to take over the lead from VIEW THE ART approaching the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 7 – LATHER UP AT WOODLANDS STUD PACE – 1740 metres

 

General– Due to the earlier storm activity near the course, this race was delayed until 9.36pm.

SHIMMYSHIMMYSHAKE– Pre-race swab sampled.

SARAH JO – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field near the 1200 metres.

HARD TO LOVE – Caught racing wide from the start, before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres.

CAPTAINS CATCH– Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY MAIDEN PACE – 1740 metres

 

General– Due to further storm activity near the course, this race was delayed until 10.06pm.

GIRLSGOTCURLS– Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-out leaving the 200 metres, shifted-in, and contacted a marker peg when it over-reacted to being prevented from shifting out.

BODACIOUS BREW – Contacted the sulky wheel of OUR STAR AND BACK leaving the 400 metres, when that runner shifted-out, and was checked and broke gait.

HOI AN – Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.

HARTSPEAK – Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.

OUR STAR AND BACK– Sulky contacted by BODACIOUS BREWleaving the 400 metres. At a subsequent inquiry, Driver L Primmer pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that leaving the 400 metres, in an endeavour to obtain clear running, he shifted the mare out when not clear of BODACIOUS BREWwhich contacted the sulky wheel of his runner and was checked and broke gait. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account L Primmer’s guilty plea, his good driving record with regards to this rule and the particular circumstances of the incident. Driver L Primmer had his license to drive in races suspended for a period of 10 days. Post-race swab sampled.

YELLA – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it was having its first race start in over 12 months, and cleared to start. Checked leaving the 400 metres when BODACIOUS BREW broke gait.
