RACE 1 – OUTBACK HOME IMPROVEMENTS PACE – 2120 metres
DEBRA JEAN– Pre-race blood sample was taken. Held up for clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and not fully tested.
MIGHTY ATOM– Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event before obtaining a position outside the leader passing the 1550 metres. Driver M Rue received a reprimand under AHR Rule 52(5) for failing to attend the all clear.
JAYJAYBENNY– Raced three wide in the early stages of the event before obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1950 metres.
CLASSIC BEESMACK– Driver J O’Shea pleaded guilty to a charge under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion in more than a wrist only flicking motion. When assessing penalty Stewards took into account Mr O’Shea’s guilty plea and his record in relation to this Rule. J O’Shea was fined the sum of $200. Post-race swab sample was taken.
RACE 2 – MARTY NELSON REFIRGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING PACE – 1720 metres
EAGLE ART– Tired over the final 500 metres to be beaten a considerable distance. Trainer/driver G Edwards stated that EAGLE ART’S performance in tonight’s event was due to the mare being in season. Stewards noted his comments. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Given the overall performance of EAGLEART in tonight’s event the mare was stood down for one requalifying trial. Driver G Edwards received a reprimand under AHR Rule 170(1)(a) for allowing his feet to lower from the sulky rest passing the 180 metres.
FAIRE LA FETE– Held up for clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and not fully tested.
RAINBOW TITAN– Had a tendency to over race whilst leading the event.
LA TOISON DOR– Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1400 metres.
PIPPO NIEN– Pre-race blood sample was taken. Post-race swab sample was taken.
MISS PAU– Held up for clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and not fully tested.
RACE 3 – GEOFF RICHARDS PANEL BEATING PACE – 1720 metres
DARABONT– Became unbalanced before breaking stride passing the 200 metres. A warning was issued.
BRIDGE COIN– Post-race swab sample was taken.
RIPPONLEA– Raced three wide in the early stages of the event before obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.
SCARAMUCCI– Pre-race blood sample was taken.
RACE 4 – CONGRATULATIONS STEVE TURNBULL ON 4000 WINNERS PACE – 2120 metres
CRAZY SHIPPO– Became unbalanced before breaking stride and locking wheels with ENKSPOT SHANNON passing the 2000 metres. A warning was issued.
THE RUNNIN KIND– Checked when CRAZY SHIPPO galloped passing the 2000 metres. Post-race swab sample was taken.
TERRYRAMA– Pre-race blood sample was taken. Despite the efforts of driver O Frisby was out of position when the start was affected. A warning was issued. Checked when passing the 2000 metres when CRAZY SHIPPO galloped.
ENK SPOT SHANNON– Checked and locked wheels with CRAZY SHIPPO passing the 2000 metres when that runner had galloped. Tired over the course of the event to be beaten a considerable distance. Stewards queried trainer N Turnbull on the gelding’s performance in tonight’s event. He stated that he was slightly disappointed in tonight’s performance given the gelding had been working well at home leading into tonight’s event and was expecting a forward showing. Stewards noted his comments. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Given the overall performance of the gelding ENK SPOT SHANNON was stood down for one requalifying trial.
RACE 5 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres
FAR OUT RINGO– Hung in and momentarily locked wheels with YOU CANNOT HIDE passing the 200 metres.
YOU CANNOT HIDE– Raced three wide in the early stages of the event before obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1450 metres. Checked when momentarily locking wheels with FAR OUT RINGO passing the 200 metres.
OUR DICKIE BART– Pre-race blood sample was taken. Had a tendency to over race throughout the middle stages of the event.
OURSWEETPOG– Post-race swab sample was taken.
AUNTY ROXY– Checked and raced rough leaving the 400 metres when FAR OUT RINGO shifted up the track to obtain clear running. At that point AUNTY ROXY had a tendency to hang in slightly contributing to driver A Frisby having to check the filly off FAR OUT RINGO. As no one horse or driver was solely to blame no further action was taken.
RACE 6 – WESTERN PLAINS GRANITE MAIDEN PACE – 1720 metres
LA BOMBA– Held up for clear running in the home straight on the final occasion until the 50 metres. Improved into a run leaving the 50 metres and as a result locked wheels with JOE POWELL NZ.
JOE POWELL NZ– Pre-race blood sample was taken. Locked wheels with LA BOMBA over the final 50 metres.
BUSTER REASON– Raced three wide in the early stages of the event before obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1450 metres. Post-race swab sample was taken.
CAUGHT OUT– At the request of connections will now be re-included in the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 7 – TAB VENURE MODE MAIDEN PACE – 1720 meters
INVINCIANO– Pre-race blood sample was taken. Post-race swab sample was taken.
BRADNESS FOLSOM– Raced roughly for a short distance after the start was affected due to the gelding shifting down the track slightly and UNDERCOVER BUNNY shifting up the track slightly.
WINTER ROSE– Raced three wide in the early stages of the event before obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres. Contacted the sulky wheel of AUDREY CATHERINE leaving the 500 metres resulting in WINTER ROSE being checked and racing roughly.
UNCLE TONY– Raced three wide in the early stages of the event with a trail. Raced three wide in the middle stages of the event before obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres.
AUDREY CATHERINE– Became unbalanced before breaking stride passing the 1500 metres. A warning was issued. Driver J Sutton received a reprimand under AHR Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that leaving the 500 metres he has shifted his runner up the track when not sufficiently clear of WINTER ROSE racing to his outside resulting in that runner contacting the off side sulky wheel of AUDREY CATHERINE and being checked and racing roughly.
RACE 8 – RACE TECH HORSE SUPPLIES PACE – 1720 metres
BART MAGUIRE NZ– Pre-race blood sample was taken.
MIOAN– Post-race swab sample was taken.
BRADNESS ABUELA– Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1400 metres.
WATCH AND WEEP– Held up for clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
BROOKLYN BANDIT– Held up for clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and not fully tested.
