Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE (1650 MS)

Miyagi Boy was out of position at the start  and will continue  out of  the draw in future mobile start events.

Rockinthecity commenced to pull hard when positioned outside the leader from the winning post with one lap to travel

Ce Pe Three commenced to hang in passing the 500m when giving ground.

Nathan Jack driver of Nivekalon Eagle ($9.50 beaten 64.8m) was queried  regarding the   performance from the gelding. Mr Jack could offer no explanation for the performance, reporting that the gelding had never travelled well at any stage before commencing to tire from the entrance to the back straight. Stewards questioned Stable Representative Mitchell Frost, who explained that the gelding had  had a freshen up since its most recent run at Cobram on 31 October, and although had worked well had proved disappointing. A warning was placed on the performance of the gelding.

RACE 2 – ALDEBARAN PARK TROT (2150 MS)

Countess Chiron broke in the score up, was out of position at the start  and will continue out of  the draw in future mobile start events. The mare trailed the field thereafter.

Everybodylovesme was fractious in the pre start circle, was  out of position at  the  start  and will continue  out of  the draw in future mobile start events.

Valley Star NZ broke after the start and will continue  out of  the draw in future mobile start events. The gelding then broke gait free of interference in the back straight on the final occasion and a warning was issued.

Roi Du Soleil hung in from the 400 metres to the  200metres..

RACE 3 – WOODLANDS STUD AUSTRALIA BREEDERS CROWN SERIES 24 3YO SILVER TROT (GROUP 3) (2150 MS)

Damien Burns, trainer of Everybodyluvskenny was cautioned for the late driver declaration of Anthony Butt, who replaced Ryan Duffy on the colt.

Millee was slowly away, then broke after the start and was  placed out of  the draw in future mobile start events.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion Everybodloveskenny broke gait free of interference. Shortly after Montana Chevelle was inconvenienced by Everybodyloveskenny and subsequently broke gait, with Rastamon also being inconvenienced.

Stewards queried trainer/driver Chris Lang, regarding the performance of More Wanted ($5.00 and beaten 32.7m). Mr Lang conveyed his disappointment in the effort and advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.

Ryan Duffy, driver of Aldebaran Misty was cautioned for a lack of control for allowing the filly to shift partially  into the sprint lane over the concluding stages.

Wish Upona Dream raced roughly in the back straight on the final occasion, losing ground as a consequence.

RACE 4 – ALDEBARAN PARK BREEDERS CROWN SERIES 25 2YO SILVER TROT (GROUP 3) (2150 MS)

The start of this race was delayed due to Tradie Lady requiring farrier attention in the stalls area and  ran three minutes behind schedule.

Aldebaran Bree broke free of interference on the first turn and a warning was placed on the filly’s racing manners. After tacking on to the rear of the field Aldebaran Bree then tired to be beaten 191.5m. Given the beaten margin and her previous racing history, Aldebaran Bree was stood down pending the completion of a satisfactory trial.

Sorella tired over the concluding stages, however given the margins between the placings some leniency was shown and no action was taken.

Aetheon tired to be beaten 93m and a warning issued.

That Other Thing tired to be beaten 97.7m and a warning issued.

. Tradie Lady Underwent a post-race veterinary examination due to the presence of blood in its nearside nostril upon returning to scale  and pursuant to  AHRR 101(B)(2) was  stood down from racing pending the completion of a  satisfactory trial.

RACE 5 - A ROCKNROLL DANCE BREEDERS CROWN SERIES 24 (3YO FILLIES) SILVER PACE (GROUP 3) (2150 MS)

The start of this race was delayed due to Grafton greyhounds (race four) running behind schedule.

Beach Memories was out of position at the start  and will continue  out of  the mobile barrier  draw.

Beach Memories momentarily raced roughly at the 1300m when working three wide  and challenging for the lead.

Stewards held up the all clear in order to view the official race replays of the home turn and after doing so were satisfied that whilst Younggiftedandblack had been directed down the track and raced marginally  inside the last marker peg, the filly  had not gained an advantage by doing so  and the all clear was given on the judge’s numbers. Driver Anthony Butt was  fined  $100 pursuant to  AHRR163(1)(c).

Azellias Flame was held up rounding the home turn as Ozzie Joy gave ground. Stewards queried driver Jack Laugher (Ozzie Joy). Mr Laugher explained that in his opinion, the filly may not have backed up from her winning performance at Melton on Friday 18 November. A post race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the days following the race.

RACE 6 – WOODLANDS STUD AUSTRALIA BREEDERS CROWN SERIES 24 (3YO COLTS & GELDINGS) SILVER PACE (GROUP 3) (2150 MS)

The start of this race was delayed due to Gosford greyhounds (race five) running behind schedule.

Offyarocka Crocker was out of position at the start. Driver David Moran was fined $250 pursuant to AHRR 162(1)(h). In determining penalty Stewards considered the feature race status of the event and Mr Moran’s recent record under this rule. Offyarocker Crocker then hung out in the back straight on the first occasion. Always Locksley, which  was trailing Offyarocka Crocker and pulling hard, then progressed forwards to the inside of Offyarocka Crocker’s near side sulky wheel before being restrained by driver Tayla French. A warning was placed on the manners of Offyarocka Crocker for hanging out.

Victory George was held up around the home turn and was momentarily  inconvenienced and contacted the  final marker peg prior to the entrance of the sprint lane  as Keayang Kingston which  was racing in advance of Victory George was  directed down into the sprint lane.

RACE 7 – ALABAR BREEDERS CROWN SERIES 25 (2YO FILLIES) SILVER PACE (GROUP 3) (2150 MS)

Anthony Butt was not listed in the racebook  as the driver of Majorholeinmypocket.

The start of this race was delayed due to Grafton greyhounds Race 7 running behind schedule.

Tin Tin Jo hung out after the start and a warning was issued.

Ozzie Sweet Pea hung out severely after the start despite the efforts of driver Jack Laugher. Given the filly’s previous history, Ozzie Sweet Pea was placed out of  the mobile barrier draw.

Driver Jason Lee(Keayang Ladybug) was cautioned for easing the pace in the back straight when being eased to take a trail.

Ivana Bytheseaside tired to be beaten 66m and a warning was issued.

Majorholeinmypocket tired to be beaten 53m and a warning was issued.

Stewards questioned trainer/driver David Miles as to the apparent  improved performance of  Our Princess Di. Mr Miles explained that the filly had pulled hard in her heat at Maryborough on 6 November 2022  despite the fast mile rate on that occasion however had settled well in tonight’s event and as a consequence was able to finish the race off in much better fashion.

RACE 8 – IRT AUSTRALIA BREEDERS CROWN SERIES 25 (2YO COLTS & GELDINGS) SILVER PACE (GROUP 3) (2150 MS)

The start of this race was delayed due to the Gosford greyhounds Race 8 running behind schedule.

Stewards questioned drivers John Justice (Another Nien) and Leigh Sutton (Be Dazzled) in relation to an incident racing into the first turn with Mr Sutton explaining that after momentarily attempting to shift to the position behind the leader Our Vinnie,  he then took hold of his drive which then shifted out  resulting in his drive then racing tight to the inside of Another Nien before driver John Justice (Another Nien) took corrective action to relieve the pressure to Be Dazzled, who was racing to his immediate inside.  

Hestheonetowatch was held up for clear racing room from the 300m until entering the home straight. Stewards queried driver Nathan Jack who explained that  in his opinion  his drive was not travelling well enough to improve  wide from the 500m, and instead he had  opted to  pursue a run   between runners as Another Nien was angled three wide. Mr Jack added that he anticipated that Be Dazzled, who was racing in the one out line at the time, may have been able to cross to the pegs in advance of Momentum Swing (Cameron Maggs) however when that failed to eventuate it  resulted in Hestheonetowatch being held up for some distance before  gaining clear running entering the home straight.  Stewards noted Mr Jack’s explanation.

RACE 9 – HARAS DES TROTTEURS TROT (1650 MS)

The start of this race was delayed due to Grafton greyhounds Race 10 running behind schedule.

Rohaan underwent pre-and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare policy, having returned to racing following   surgery to his  near-hind leg.

Bullapark Beno broke in the score-up, was out of position at the start  and will continue out of  the draw in future mobile start events. The gelding trailed the field thereafter.

Champagne Charley was out of position at  the start  and will continue  right outside the draw in future mobile start events.

Champagne Charley hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

Rohaan momentarily raced roughly upon entering the home straight on the final occasion.

Ebonys Avenger was held up for clear running rounding the home turn  and then again nearing the finish.

RACE 10 – WOODLANDS STUD TROT (2150 MS)

Will Patrick commenced to race roughly entering the back straight on the final occasion and then broke  under pressure passing the 400m. Given the gelding’s recent record, Will Patrick will now be stood down for ten  days and pending the completion of a satisfactory trial. Lady Lil who was trailing Will Patrick at the time was inconvenienced, held up and lost ground as a consequence.

RACE 11 – PRYDE'S EASIFEEDS TROT (2150 MS)

Aldebaran Belle will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events at the request of connections.

Black and Gold began badly and was  placed out of  the draw in future mobile start events.
