RACE 1 – LLOWALONG FARMS STALLION BONUS PACE – 1730 metres
DANCE WITH SOMBODY– Post-race sample collected.
MISTA MOOSE– Tired over the final 300 metres to be beaten 54 metres. A warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Driver I Ross was questioned on the overall performance of the colt. I Ross could offer no reasonable explanation for the performance other than being disappointed in the run. She further added that connections would look to freshen the colt up in the coming weeks. Her comments were noted.
BETTER THAN LEXY– Worked forward three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1350 metres.
OURSWEETPOG– Had a tendency to hang in under pressure in the run to the finish.
STEPH– Galloped out as the start was affected. A warning was issued. Leaving the 1600 metres when regaining its correct gait the headcheck bit became detached from the horse’s mouth.
EBOY ROCKS– Pre-race blood sample collected. Inconvenienced at the 350 metres when trailing the tiring MISTA MOOSE, until clearing that runner at the 250 metres.
ALBERIO– Declared a late scratching at 9.33am by order of the Stewards.
RACE 2 – SOHO TRIBECA @ LOWALONG FARMS PACE – 2260 metres
THE WEEKEND– Pre-race blood sample collected.
THE RAINBOW BEACH– Post-race sample collected.
OUR UNCLE LES– Driver A Frisby pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn has allowed his runner to shift down the track when insufficiently clear of WHY NOT SURF and as a result that runner has contacted the sulky and broke stride. In assessing penalty Stewards took into consideration Mr Frisby’s guilty plea, his recent record in regards to this Rule and the degree of carelessness. A Frisby’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days. The suspension is to commence at midnight Saturday, 30 July 2022.
FREDDY SINGH– Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1800 metres.
WHY NOT SURF– When entering the first turn was placed in restricted racing room and as a result has contacted the sulky wheel of OUR UNCLE LES breaking stride.
RACE 3 – CENTURY FARROH @ LLOWALONG FARMS PACE – 1730 metres
RETURN SERVE– Worked forward to obtain the lead from POSH FELLA NZ at the 1300 metres. Surrendered the lead to NO DRAMAS at the 1000 metres. Tired over the final 600 metres to be beaten 108 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer/driver D Cernovskis was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding. He stated the gelding had not travelled well in the float on route to the track and believed this may have contributed to the overall performance. He further added the gelding travelled well throughout the race but when placed under pressure at the 600 metres failed to respond and tired out of the event. Mr Cernovskis advised Stewards that the colt would be going for a spell, as such the gelding will be stood down for twenty eight days, furthermore must requalify on one occasion prior to racing.
NO DRAMAS– Worked forward to the lead at the 1000 metres. Post-race sample collected.
ROSTOVA– Pre-race blood sample collected. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to a position at the rear of the field at the 1300 metres.
BOLDINO– Inconvenienced in the latter stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start.
YOU CANNOT HIDE– Contacted the barrier arm in the latter stages of the score up and as a result broke stride and was out of position at the star. A warning was issued.
POSH FELLA NZ– Surrendered the lead to RETURN SERVE at the 1300 metres. Inconvenienced at the 600 metres when trailing RETURN SERVE who was tiring until clearing that runner at the 500 metres.
THE SMIRKING GUN– Contacted the barrier arm as a result of the speed of the mobile resulting in the gelding racing roughly in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. No action was taken.
OUR DICKIE BART– Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.
RACE 4 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1730 metres
DARK TERROR– Post-race sample collected. Driver T Bullock and trainer B Settree were queried on the improved performance of the gelding. T Bullock stated the economical run afforded to the gelding throughout the race tonight attributed to the improved performance. Trainer B Settree stated that in recent starts the gelding has raced without luck and also agreed with the run afforded tonight was the reason for the improved performance. He further added that some work had been done on the gelding’s feet in recent weeks which has shown some improvement. The gelding had worked well leading into the event and was confident of a forward showing.
GLAMOUR FOX– Pre-race blood sample collected. Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1350 metres.
MISS LEMON– Trainer/driver A Turnbull was questioned on the overall performance of the mare. Ms Turnbull stated from the wide barrier she elected to restrain to the tail of the field where the mare travelled comfortably until the 600 metres, when the pace in the race increased MISS LEMON appeared to drop the bit at that stage. Passing the 400 metres she elected to stay on the marker line as the mare wasn`t travelling to shift wider until utilising the sprint lane when it became available and was more than happy how the mare finished the race off. Her comments were noted.
RACE 5 – GC37 YEARLING PAYMENTS DUE 29/7 PACE – 1730 metres
ALTA DOWNS– Surrendered the lead to SELSEY BILL NZ at the 1400 metres.
SELSEY BILL NZ– Worked forward to the lead at the 1400 metres.
MISTER HAYWOOD– Held up for clear racing room over the final 100 metres and was not fully tested.
BUDDING CAESAR– Pre-race blood sample collected. Post-race sample collected.
TERRYRAMA– Out of position at the start. Considering the speed of the mobile the gelding will be given its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Leaving the 1350 metres momentarily hung in contacting marker pegs.
VOODOO LOU– Had a tendency to race rough in the latter stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. The mare also raced roughly at various stages throughout the event. Driver O Frisby was issued a reprimand under Rule 52(5) for failing to come to the all clear when finishing in the first four.
RACE 6 – MEL MARA @ LLOWALONG FARMS PACE – 1730 metres
OLIVIA SHANNON– Pre-race blood sample collected. Surrendered the lead to LEAHSHANNON at the 1500 metres.
LEAH SHANNON– Worked forward to obtain the lead at the 1500 metres. Had a tendency to hang in under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion. Post-race sample collected.
LEXY CAN BERN– Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field at the 1250 metres.
CHELSEAS GIRL– Worked forward four then three wide until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres.
PRINCE PARKER– Raced three wide for the final 900 metres without cover.
CINDAROCKINRELLA– Raced three wide for the final 850 metres with a trail.
IM MAJOR HARRY– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
RACE 7 – LATHER UP @ LLOWALONG FARMS PACE – 1730 metres
GLOBAL GODDESS– Tired over the final 700 metres to be beaten 105 metres. Stood down for one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
DAVIDS HOPE– Slow to begin when the start was affected.
APACHE WARRIOR NZ– Pre-race blood sample collected. Post-race sample collected.
SHADY TREE– Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.
LIMOUSINE CHEEKY– Became unbalanced and broke stride shortly after the start. The filly will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts. Worked forward three wide from the 1300 metres until obtaining the position in the running line at the 1100 metres.
RACE 8 – AMERICAN IDEAL @ LLOWALONG FARMS PACE – 1730 metres
SHANERRA STAR NZ– Pre-race blood sample collected. Post-race sample collected.
OUR GOOD FORTUNE– Hung out shortly after the start was affected and as a result raced roughly for a short distance. A warning was issued. The mare had a tendency to race greenly throughout the event. Momentarily held up for clear racing room at the 250 metres. Had a tendency to hang in under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion.
SUSIEQ SHANNON– Had a tendency to race roughly in the middle stages of the score up when reluctant to come up behind the mobile barrier.
HOODLUM TURF– Tired for over the final 400 metres to be beaten 68 metres. Connections were advised the gelding would be stood down for one requalifying trial.
