RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1730 metres

DESMOND – Surrendered the lead to LAURIE DEE at the 1450 metres.

REASON TO PARTY– Despite the efforts of the driver was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

LAURIE DEE– Worked forward to obtain the lead at the 1450 metres. 

OUR GEORGE BOSTON– Pre-race blood sample collected.  Caught racing three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1100 metres.  Post-race sample collected.

IM CAPTAIN MAX NZ– Momentarily inconvenienced at the 200 metres when improving onto the back of the tiring MIGHTY ATOM.

IM MAJOR HARRY– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 2 – STU VALENTINE 4 BLOODSTOCK INS PACE – 1730 metres

CHOC A BLOCK– Despite the efforts of the driver was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.  Tired over the final 400 metres to be beaten 56 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Trainer/driver J Morris was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding.  J Morris stated that despite missing some work due to the inclement weather leading into the event she was disappointed in the overall performance.  She further added CHOC A BLOCK never felt comfortable at any time throughout the event.  Her comments were noted.  Mrs Morris was further advised to inform  Stewards  if anything comes to light with the gelding in the coming days which may have effected it`s performance.

THE RAINBOW BEACH– Worked forward to obtain the lead at the 1200 metres.  Post-race sample collected.

RAINBOW TITAN– Surrendered the lead to THE RAINBOW BEACH at the 1200 metres. 

SHOULDA PASSED– Pre-race blood sample collected. 

 

RACE 3 – AUSTRALIAN HARNESS TRADING PACE – 2260 metres

THE WEEKEND– Pre-race blood sample collected. 

DELIGHTFUL ME– Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

BRIDGE COIN– When shifting wider at the 300 metres has done so when insufficiently clear of LUCKY NUTTER with that horse being slightly inconvenienced.  Driver J Hewitt was advised to exercise care in similar circumstances. 

LUCKY NUTTER– Despite the efforts of the driver was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.  Leaving the 300 metres was momentarily inconvenienced when BRIDGE COIN was shifting wider. 

LOUIE THE PUNTER NZ– Post-race sample collected.

DUNNO JO– Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 104 metres.  Connections were advised the gelding will have to requalify on one occasion.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery.  Driver N Hurst was given instructions to attempt to lead the race if possible and when unable to muster enough speed to gain that position was obliged to race outside the leader and considering the longer distance of the race this proved detrimental to the overall performance of the gelding.  His comments were noted.

LADY ANGELINA– Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 4 – BOURKES HORSE RUGS PACE – 1730 metres

ARDENS REALITY NZ– Pre-race blood sample collected.  Driver B Micallef was questioned on the overall performance and the tactics adopted throughout the event. B Micallef was given instruction to lead the race if possible as connections were confident of a forward showing considering the geldings work leading into tonight’s race. When challenged in the middle stages he elected to resist the challenge for the lead. He further added when placed under pressure at the 600 metres the gelding didn`t respond as expected and was slightly disappointed with the overall performance.

FAZE OF GLORY NZ– Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres.  Hung out under pressure in the run to the finish.  A warning was issued.  At the request of connections the gelding will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.  Post-race sample collected.

 

RACE 5 – RELIANCE BANK PACE – 1730 metres

RYANS GANGSTER– Driver J Hewitt was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding. J Hewitt stated all though being up in grade, from the better barrier draw he elected to lead the race with the gelding travelling comfortable throughout. When BID FOR STARDOM applied pressure into the race at the 600 metres the gelding failed to respond as expected and tired over the final 250 metres.

ROCKN AND ROLLN– Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres. 

UROC SKINNY JEANS– Pre-race blood sample collected.

MYRA DAWN– Post-race sample collected.

BID FOR STARDOM– After being slow to muster speed in the early stages of the score up was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.  Raced three wide for the final 800 metres without cover.  Driver J Sutton was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding. J Sutton stated although missing the start the gelding raced comfortable at the tail of the field. He further stated as the gelding is normally driven tough in his races and elected to put the gelding into the race at the 800 metres. J Sutton added with the gelding being first up from a let up and missing the start he may have erred in not waiting to try get a trail into the race. His comments were noted.

 

RACE 6 – TOWN & COUNTRY RURAL SUPPLIES PACE – 1730 metres

BILL SHANNON– Surrendered the lead to OLIVIA SHANNON at the 1400 metres. 

BEAUTIFULVENGEANCE– Pre-race blood sample collected. 

OLIVIA SHANNON– Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to the lead at the 1400 metres.  At the request of connections the mare will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts. 

KARLOO LOUIE– Post-race sample collected.

 

RACE 7 – THE KNICKERBOCKER HOTEL PACE – 1730 metres

SHEZ A WARRIOR– Tired from the 800 metres to be beaten 348 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have an irregular heartbeat.  Connections were advised the filly would be stood down for a period of 14 days, to requalify on one occasion and must also submit a veterinary certificate with an ECG.

DAVIDS HOPE– Despite the efforts of the driver was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

RARIFIED MAN– Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field at the 1300 metres.

YAREADYFREDDY– Pre-race blood sample collected.  Post-race sample collected.

CAUGHT OUT– Inconvenienced at the 800 metres when trailing SHEZ A WARRIOR.

 

RACE 8 – COBBITTY EQUINE PACE – 1730 metres

AYRSONG– Leaving the 1500 metres became unbalanced and broke stride.  The filly will be stood down for one requalifying trial.

BARBARADAWNSHANNON– Driver K Grant was advised to provide sufficient clearance to runners to her inside when closing down the track.

REBOUNDER– Post-race sample collected.

MANHATTAN SKYLINE– Pre-race blood sample collected.
