Race 1 - PELICAN WATERS RESORT UP TO NR70 CONSOLATION            1660M

O B Legal NZ (Peter Greig) failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

Falcons (Ricky Thurlow) held up for clear running until well into the home straight when moved to the extreme outside of the track and finished on strongly.

Jumping Jack Jimmy (Narissa McMullen) connections questioned regarding the somewhat improved performance in tonight’s race after two recent disappointing race starts. Trainer Mark Rees explained the gelding performed disappointingly at its last start but had since trialled well. He further added that two starts prior, the gelding was obliged to carry a flat tyre throughout the race and its three previous starts were highly consistent. Mr Rees advised Stewards the gelding raced particularly well tonight with cover and it would be his intention to utilise this race tactic for Jumping Jack Jimmy in future racing. Stewards directed a post race blood sample be taken three hours from the schedule race time.

Golden Sand (Clint Sneddon) galloped in the early stages of the score up but quickly settled back into a pace.

Franco Nandor NZ (Brendan Barnes) hung in at the 800 metres despite the efforts of its driver and contacted a marker peg.

Race 2 – DESIGNLINE UP TO NR70 FINAL      1660M

Chamonix (Trista Dixon) checked at the 200 metres when racing to the outside of Black Hawk Joe which was shifting wider on the track to gain clear running.

General

Will Rixon (Black Hawk Joe) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving under AHR rule 168 (1) (a) for shifting wider on the track at the 200 metres when insufficiently clear of Chamonix which caused a tightening of racing room to that gelding. After considering Will Rixon’s good record in this regard, a fine of $200 was imposed.

Race 3 - AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS BAND 4 - BAND 2 PACE   2138M

Obi One NZ (Chloe Butler) unsuccessfully challenged for the lead and was caught without cover from the 1000 metres before tiring in the concluding stages.

Squire (Nathan Dawson) pulled very hard when racing outside the leader and progressed forward to take the lead at the 1000 metres.

Watts Up Sunshine (Rickie Alchin) caught three wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.

Kashed Up (Brendan Barnes) moved forward three wide leaving the 1600 metres and was unsuccessful in obtaining the position without cover due to Squire over racing which resulted in Kashed Up being restrained to the rear of the field.

Race 4 - CHANGEOVER @ BURWOOD STUD MARES BAND 5 PACE            1660M

No racing incidents.

Race 5 – CHANGEOVER @ BURWOOD STUD MARES QUALIFYING PACE   1660M

Bettor Memories (Leonard Cain) hung out after the start and galloped leaving the back straight on the first occasion but quickly settled into a pace. Connections were advised Bettor Memories will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

Infinity Beach (Brendan Barnes) inclined to race roughly at the 500 metres and again in the run to the finish and a warning was issued.

Winona Writer (Bernie Hewitt) broke gait free of interference at the 300 metres and lost valuable ground. Connections were advised the mare will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

Race 6 - SUNSHINE STARS YEARLING SALE OPEN PACE     2138M

Crunch Time (Nathan Dawson) pulled hard when leading. Deafener cord became entangled around the foot rest and driver Nathan Dawson momentarily dropped his left foot at the 200 metres when correcting the malfunction.

General

Nathan Dawson (Crunch Time) was reprimanded under AHR rule 170 (2) for allowing his body to protrude outside the confines of the sulky.

Race 7 – MITCH 'DUGBOAT' DUGGAN BIRTHDAY VETERANS PACE            2138M

Mafuta Vautin (Brittany Graham) broke in the early stages of the score up but was in position when the start was affected.

Bettor Vision (Ricky Thurlow)back in the mobile draw after two successful consecutive starts.

Race 8 - CHANGEOVER @ BURWOOD STUD MARES QUALIFYING PACE   1660M

No racing incidents.

Race 9 - 2023 CREEK NUTRIEN SALE QUALIFYING PACE     2138M

Vanity Bay (Grant Dixon) contacted a marker peg at the 1800 metres.

Mr Ibiza NZ (Ricky Thurlow) shifted in and contacted a marker peg on the turn into the back straight on the first occasion.

Jigamaroo (Angus Garrard) inconvenienced on the final turn when held up behind the tiring Vanity Bay.
