Stewards noted the intended tactics from trainers with multiple runners in the one race

Race 1 - PSP TROTTERS RATING HANDICAP  2138M

Jaccka Watch NZ (Shane Graham) – Slow into stride

Hattie (John Cremin) – Fractious before the start. Galloped at the start. A warning was issued.

Dead Set Muscle (Brittany Graham) – Galloped at the start. The mare will be placed on its last chance in the draw.

Valley Ess Jay (Lachie Mandelman) – An examination by the veterinarian subsequent to the race found the gelding to be sore in the near hind leg. Acting on the veterinary advice Valley Ess Jay was stood down for a period of seven (7) days and veterinary clearance must be provided before the gelding again races.

Race 2 - AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS TROTTERS RATING HANDICAP            2138M

Father Christmas NZ (Brendan Barnes)– Slow into stride

Rigondeaux (Nathan Dawson)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 1900 m.

Rosehill Magic (Mathew Neilson)– Galloped at the start loosing significant ground. The mare will be excluded from the barrier draw in future standing start events.

Regal Appointment NZ (Grant Dixon)– Inconvenienced at the start by Father Christmas being slow to begin. Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 1900 m.

Riley Moment NZ (Pete McMullen)- Broke gait shortly after the start taking no competitive part in the race. A warning was issued.

Race 3 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE  2138M

Bulldog Brawler (Taleah McMullen)– Overraced and pulled hard during the event.

Race 4 - QBRED BREEDERS CLASSIC CONSOLATION - 2YO MIXED SEX  1660M

Skylar Bree (Justin Elkins)– Broke gait shortly after the start. The filly will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events until Stewards are satisfied it can perform in the desired manner.

Odins Black Crows (Pete McMullen)– Hung in and contacted marker posts near the 200 m. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the run to the finish.

Race 5 - PRYDE'S EASIFEED PACE    1660M

Feel The Spirit (Shane Graham)– Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.

Studleigh Will (Pete McMullen) – Left a one-wide trailing position at the 1200 m and after an unsuccessful challenge for the position outside the leader was then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the event. Inclined to hang in when racing wide near the 800 m. Gave ground over the final 400 m.

Race 6 - QBRED BREEDERS CLASSIC CONSOLATION - 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS  2138M

General: At the initial start of the race The Ex Horseist (Grand Dixon) broke gait and hung out dislodging Pete McMullen (Dancing With My Ex). The driverless Dancing With My Ex continued to run through the field thereby causing, in the opinion, of the Stewards an unnecessary risk. As such Stewards activated the no race siren to stop the race.

All horses returned to the marshalling area and were examined and subsequently cleared to restart by the Veterinarian whilst driver Pete McMullen was medically assessed and cleared to take his drive.

Pushinit Uphill (Shane Graham)– Hung in and contacted marker posts leaving the 800 m.

The Ex Horseist (Grant Dixon)– Broke gait in initial score up. The gelding will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events until Stewards are satisfied it can perform in the desired manner.

Mister Reactor (Kelli Dawson)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post leaving the 200 m.

Race 7 - BETAVET RECOVERY VETERANS PACE  1660M

Jumping Jolt (Justin Elkins)– Held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.

Pembrooks Passion NZ (Ricky Thurlow)- Raced wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.

Race 8 - QBRED BREEDERS CLASSIC CONSOLATION - 3YO FILLIES  2138M

Explanation Noted (Ricky Thurlow)– Hung out during the event. A warning was issued.

Leander (Trent Dawson)- Driver Trent Dawson fined $100 for failing to adhere to the required time standard with the first half of the last mile run in 64.1 seconds (R.162(1)(y)).

Meribel (Grant Dixon)– Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.

Race 9 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM MALONEY PACE  1660M

Yarraman Rocky (Trent Lethaby) – Gave ground badly over the final 600 m to be beaten over 100 metres. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory and declared the gelding ineligible until it trials satisfactorily.

Delightful Lou (Mathew Neilson) – Driver questioned regarding tactics adopted. Explanation noted.

General: Stewards questioned Matthew Neilson regarding his decision to move Delightful Lou three wide leaving the 1100 m and work forward. However due to an unsuccessful challenge for the position outside of the leader a position which was held by Treacherous One (Trent Dawson) Delightful Lou was obliged to race wide for the remainder of the event. Matthew Neilsen advised that he felt the tempo of the race had eased at that point and that there was an opportunity to put the filly into a forward position, but the tempo of the race increased when he moved to the outside of Treacherous One. He further advised that the filly races best in a such a position.  Stewards noted the comments.

Race 10 - TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY UP TO NR70 PACE  2138M

Montana Flash (Brittany Graham)– Shifted in and contacted marker posts near the 800 m

Stylish Joe (Riley Butt)– The near-side connecting strap broke leaving the 300 m. The gear was inspected and found to be of a satisfactory condition.
