Race 1 PELICAN WATERS RESORT BAND 4 - BAND 2 PACE 2138M
Rock Bottom NZ (Taleah McMullen) forced three wide at the 1600 metres when Uncle Shank shifted from a position to the inside and was obliged to restrain to the rear of the field to gain a trailing position.
Jonah Jones NZ (Grant Dixon) inconvenienced at the 900 metres when Swayzee shifted out from the marker peg position causing Jonah Jones NZ to race three wide momentarily before gaining a one wide trail shortly after.
General
Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred approaching the 900 metres in which Jonah Jones NZ was inconvenienced and obliged to race three wide momentarily before regaining a one wide trailing position. After taking evidence from the drivers concerned and viewing the official video it was established that Swayzee was being driven forward by Riley Butt to maintain a position three back on the marker pegs however at the winning post the pace of the race eased when Uncle Shank gained the lead. As a result, and as a safety measure Riley Butt was obliged to shift out quickly to avoid contacting the back of the sulky of Infatuation NZ and causing interference. Riley Butt was subsequently charged and pleaded guilty to careless driving under AHR rule 168 (1) (a) and a fine of $200 was imposed. In assessing the matter of penalty Stewards took into account mitigating circumstances in this incident.
The driving licence of Pete McMullen (Uncle Shank) was suspended for 10 days after being found guilty of a charge under AHR rule 163(1)(b)(i) for obliging Rock Bottom NZ to cover more ground by carrying it wider on the track when changing positions approaching the 1600 metres. In assessing the matter of penalty Stewards took into account Pete McMullen’s good driving record under this rule. Stewards directed this term of suspension commence 21 November 2022.
Race 2 SOMERSET FARMS BAND 5 PACE 2138M
Ashark (Pete McMullen) a post race veterinary examination revealed a minor superficial abrasion to the right eyelid and no veterinary treatment was applied.
Bettor Jiggle (Chloe Butler) galloped in the score up on the first occasion and lost valuable ground. Connections were advised Bettor Jiggle will be placed on its last chance in the draw. Raced wide for the first 600 metres of the race before working forward to obtain the position without cover.
Ryans Gangster (Brendan Barnes) shifted out during the first score up and caused Saginaw NZ to be checked resulting in a false start being declared. Ryans gangster will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile starts.
Race 3 2022 THE BILL DIXON (LISTED) 1660M
Just Dessy (Luke Mccarthy) inconvenienced at the 1300 metres when Commodore Jujon galloped.
Hy Voltage (Angus Garrard) showed good gate speed to lead shortly after the start was inclined to pull hard and raced keenly when leading.
Commodore Jujon (Trista Dixon) broke gait free of interference at the 1300 metres and lost valuable ground. After considering a good record in this regard connections were advised Commodore Jujon will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
Race 4 2022 AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS TROTTERS SPRING SPRINT (G2) 1660M
Humble Ladd NZ (Chloe Butler) broke in the early stages of the score up and refused to trot despite the efforts of its driver and lost valuable ground. After considering previous offences in this regard Humble Ladd NZ was barred from competing in mobile start events until a satisfactory mobile trial is performed. The gelding will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile starts.
Gee Up Neddy NZ (Hayden Barnes) broke gait free of interference at the 300 metres and lost valuable ground. After considering a good record in this regard connections were advised a warning only would be placed against Gee Up Neddy NZ.
Race 5 2022 PRYDE'S EASIFEED FOREVER GOLD MARES OPEN (G2) 1660M
Jasper (Trista Dixon) hung in at the 400 metres and contacted two marker pegs and a warning was issued.
Molliesmaryelle (Dannielle Veivers) broke in the early stages of the score up and lost considerable ground and took no competitive part in the race. Connections were advised Molliesmaryelle will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile starts.
Sarah Anne (Adam Sanderson) locked sulky stays with Fairy Tinkerbell NZ on straightening in the run to the finish when that mare hung in under pressure.
Fairy Tinkabell NZ (Luke McCarthy) slightly out of position when the start was affected. Driver Luke McCarthy was subsequently reprimanded under AHR rule 162 (1) (j) and advised to make more effort to maintain position in the latter stages of the score up. Hung in on the final turn and locked sulky stays with Sarah Anne which was racing to the inside.
Race 6 ALTEC QUALIFYING PACE 1660M
Man From Braavos (Pete McMullen) caught three wide for the first 600 metres and was unsuccessful in obtaining a forward position which resulted in the gelding being restrained to the rear of the field.
Race 7 2022 AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS QUEENSLAND CUP (G2) 2138M
Star Galleria NZ (Luke McCarthy) momentarily held up for clear running when trailing the tiring Blacksadance at the 200 metres.
General
The start of this race was called off in the early stages when the near side blind on Tommy Lincoln NZ became detached requiring clerk of the course assistance. No further action was taken.
RACE 8 CHANGEOVER @ BURSWOOD STUD MARES QUALIFYING PACE 1660M
Shereacts (Kelli Dawson) held up for clear running on the final turn and raced roughly leaving the 200 metres when improving into limited room to the inside of Keayang Tara.
Whata Journey (Taleah McMullen) declared a late scratching at 7.32 pm after a veterinary examination revealed the mare to be incubating a respiratory virus. Whata Journey will be stood down from racing until a veterinary clearance inclusive of an endoscopic report is received by Stewards.
Race 9 SUNSHINE STARS YEARLING SALE 3YO FILLIES CLASSIC (G3) 2138M
General
Driver Tom Ison (Magic Moment NZ) was fined $200 under AHR rule 156 (3) for using the whip in the concluding stages in a continuous manner without allowing the horse time to respond.
