Race 1 - PSP TROTTERS MOBILE 1660M MS
Everysecondcounts (Trent Lethaby) utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.
Kapai NZ (Nathan Dawson) led then surrendered the lead near 1300 metres. Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.
Monaro Mako NZ (Matt Elkins) broke shortly after the start was effected losing considerable ground– placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races.
Dream Inception (Brendan Barnes) worked forward to the lead near the 1300 metres. Hung out at various stages during the race and noticeably when under pressure in the home straight – a warning was issued.
Shegotsass (Tim Gillespie) broke shortly after the start was effected taking no competitive part in the race as a result – continue out of the draw in mobile barrier races.
Hello Jolene Jolene NZ (Grant Dixon) broke shortly after the start was effected losing considerable ground – continue right out of the draw in mobile barrier races.
My Rumour Has It NZ (Pete McMullen) inconvenienced approaching the finish when the preceding running hung out.
Race 2 – SELECTIVE MOTORS ALBION 1 WIN PACE 1660M MS
Barroom Blitz (Hayden Barnes) hung in and contacted a marker peg near the 800 metres – a warning was issued. Lost considerable ground when held up behind a tiring runner from the 500 metres prior to gaining clear running near the 1350 metres. Held up for clear running in the home straight – not fully tested.
Gleneagle Buzz (Graeme Harris) led then surrendered the lead near the 1000 metres. Commenced to give ground from the 500 metres, eventually finishing in excess of 157 metres from the winner. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Having considered its recent race record Stewards ordered that Gleneagle Buzz be stood down from racing until it completes a satisfactory requalifying trial.
Kase NZ (Angus Garrard) raced three wide until working forward to the lead approaching the 1000 metres
Short Leg Sue (Grant Dixon) was held up for clear running until the latter stages of the home straight – not fully tested.
As She Says (Chloe Butler) hung in in the score up, was out of position at the candy pole however was in position when the start was effected – placed on its last chance in the draw in mobile barrier races. Hung in and contacted a marker peg near the 1350 metres – a warning issued. Held up for clear running until the latter stages of the home straight – not fully tested.
Race 3 - DESIGNLINE PACE 1660M MS
Naughtyinheaven (Trent Moffat) raced behind the leader until commencing to give ground from the 1400 metres.
Schooby (Matt Crone) shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish. Driver M Crone reprimanded under the provisions of AHRR168(1)(a) for failing to take sufficient action to prevent Schooby from shifting ground in the run to the finish.
Melton Killara (Taleah McMullen) raced roughly for a short distance after the start was effected – placed on its last chance in the draw in mobile barrier races.
Clares Fool (Brendan Barnes) raced in a three back trailing position untiol shifting out to lead the one wide line near the 1100 metres.
Race 4 - VALE LESLEY CARKEET UP TO NR90 PACE 2138M MS
This race was started 2 minutes behind schedule due to the Stewards holding for a late starting race from Pakenham.
Majordoit (Angus Garrard) led into the first turn however was unable to maintain the lead.
Kash Us Back (Gemma Hewitt) over raced throughout the middle stages of the race prior to commencing to give ground approaching the 400 metres. Ultimately being beaten 51 metres.
Hipstar (Brendan Barnes) successfully challenged for the lead racing into the first turn.
Admiral Bronski (Matt Elkins) held up behind a tiring runner approaching the final turn losing significant ground.
Race 5 – AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS PACE 1660M MS
For No Reason (Matt Elkins) raced wide until working forward to take up the position leading the one wide line near the 1100 metres.
Galvarino (Pete McMullen) led the one wide line until gaining a one out one back trail near the 1100 metres.
Atomic Pete (Dayl March) raced roughly in the score up and as the start was effected – continue out of the draw in mobile barrier races. Had a tendency to race roughly on several occasions throughout the race. Gave ground over the final lap to be beaten in excess of 75 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a tender quarter crack. Mr March will get his farrier’s advice which he will report to the Stewards.
Race 6 - WOLF SIGNS PACE 1660M MS
Doolittle Doozzie (Leonard Cain) had his inside sulky wheel contact a marker peg leaving the final turn however gained no advantage in doing so. Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.
Race 7 – GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND PACE 1660M MS
Turbo Bromac Nz (Pete McMullen) utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.
Sharp Shooter (Matt Elkins) gave ground over the concluding stages.
Studleigh Sonny (Trent Lethaby) was inconvenienced by the preceding runner hanging out in the run to the finish. Failed to obtain a clear run to the finish – untested.
Major Mischief (Nathan Dawson) raced three wide prior to working forward to the lead approaching the 1100 metres. Had a tendency to hang out at several stages of the race – on consideration of the gelding’s recent race record Stewards placed Major Mischief on its last chance to race truly.
The Weekend (Narissa McMullen) raced three wide with cover eventually working forward to the position leading the one wide line approaching the 1100 metres.
Studleigh Mark (Taleah McMullen) hung out in the home straight resulting in the driver being unable to steer the gelding into the sprint lane – a warning was issued.
Race 8 - SUNSHINE STARS YEARLING SALE PACE 2138M MS
Hez On The Buzzer NZ (Mathew Neilson) trailed the leader throughout however failed to run on. Underwent a post race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Performance queried.
General
When questioned regarding the performance trainer G Dwyer told the Stewards that he felt the ‘early burn’ to maintain the back of the leader was the reason the gelding gave ground over the concluding stages. He further added that the gelding has limited ability and was not suited by the solid pace throughout the race. Stewards noted Mr Dwyer’s comments for future reference.
Be My Rock (Narissa McMullen) had a tendency to over race throughout the middle stages.
Race 9 - KELATO ANIMAL HEALTH PACE 1660M MS
Saving Major Percy (Jordan Topping) raced in a one out one back position until shifting out to progress forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line. Although the race was completed in a fast 1:54:3 mile rate Saving Major Percy fought on well to be beaten only 13 metres. Driving tactics queried.
General
When questioned regarding the reason she relinquished the one out one back position driver Ms J Topping explained to the Stewards that she was initially happy that she had secured the one out one back position. However, Ms C Butler, the driver of Perfect Cut NZ to her fore restrained that runner to look for a trail and Saving Major Percy NZ commenced to over race. Ms Topping explained that she felt it was in her drive’s best interest to take over the position leading the one wide line. Stewards accepted then noted her comments for future reference.
Letterkenny Boy (Angus Garrard) was momentarily held up behind a runner that was giving ground just prior to entering the home straight on the final occasion and as a consequence shifted ground slightly resulting in its sulky locking wheels with another runner. Stewards deemed this to be an accidental racing incident.
Perfect Cut NZ (Chloe Butler) underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to have sustained a minor laceration to off side nostril which resulted from the gelding contacting the barrier arm in the score up.
Convair Hustler NZ (Matt Elkins) locked sulky wheels with the sulky of another runner just prior to entering the home straight on the final occasion resulting in ghis sulky receiving a flat near side tyre. Stewards deemed this to be an accidental racing incident.
