Stewards noted the intended tactics from trainers with multiple runners in the one race

Race 1 - AQWA CONSTRUCTIONS PACE  2138M

Sweet As NZ (Mathew Neilson)– Commenced to give ground from 1000 m finishing a distant last. A subsequent veterinarian examination found Sweet As NZ to be suffering atrial fibrillation. Sweet As NZ was stood down for a period of 14 days plus an ECG & veterinary report and a satisfactory trial. The trainer indicated consideration would be given to terminating the mares racing career.

Mummys Boy (Nathan Dawson)- Overraced and pulled hard when racing outside the leader.

Baker Creek NZ (Matt Elkins)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 1800 m.

Parama NZ (Riley Butt) – Inconvenienced when Sweet As NZ commenced to yield ground.

Chamonix (Trista Dixon)– Driver suspended for forcing Saginaw NZ to cover more ground leaving the 800 m. (R.163(1)(b)(i)).

Blue Ivy NZ (Dannielle Veivers)– Hung in and contacted marker posts near the 300 m. Inconvenienced when Sweet As NZ commenced to yield ground

Saginaw NZ (Brendan Barnes)- Forced wide leaving the 800m

General: The driver’s licence of Trista Dixon (Chamonix) was suspended for 10 days for forcing Saginaw NZ wide leaving the 800 m. prior to reaching the designated push out marker. (R.163(1)(b)(i)). At the request of Ms Dixon stewards stayed the imposition of the penalty until midnight on 6 August 2022.

Race 2 - FAREWELL BIG BRUCE MUNRO PACE  1660M

Il Maximus (Leonard Cain)– Hung in and contacted a marker post near the 300 m.

Fast Tracker (Trista Dixon)– Hung out badly during the event. The gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly

Cant Bluff You (Adam Sanderson)– Checked and broke near the 200 m.

Uptown Beachgirl (Matt Elkins)– Was restrained to the rear of the field near the 900m after being caught wide in the early stages. Back in draw (mobile events)

Mongolian Conqueror NZ (Dannielle Veivers)– Raced roughly for a short distance near the 1400 m.

Bomb Suit NZ (Luke Whittaker)– Driver suspended causing interference (R.163(1)(a)(iii)).

General:  The driver’s licence of Luke Whittaker (Bomb Suit) was suspended for a period of 10 days for causing interference to Cant Bluff You (Adam Sanderson) when shifting out leaving the 200 m. (R.163(1)(a)(iii)). At the request of Luke Whittaker stewards stayed the imposition of the penalty until midnight on 6 August 2022.

Race 3 - GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND PACE  2138M

Firehouse (Mathew Neilson)– Commenced to yield ground from the 800 m after leading the event before being retired from the race at the 400 m. A subsequent veterinarian examination Firehouse found to be suffering atrial fibrillation. As the gelding had suffered a similar episode within the last 6 months Firehouse was stood down for a period of 28 days plus an ECG & veterinary report and a satisfactory trial.

Amused (Chloe Butler)– Checked at the 800 m when Firehouse commenced to yield ground.

Only Once Bitten NZ (Will Rixon)– Held up for a clear run at a vital stage rounding the home turn.

Artistic Saint (Dannielle Veivers)– Checked at the 800 m when Firehouse commenced to yield ground.

Chainlinc (Brendan Barnes)– Inconvenienced at the 800 m when Firehouse commenced to yield ground.

Race 4 - LUNCHBOX LODGE CLAIMING PACE  2138M

Arthur Lowe NZ (Lachie Manzelmann)– Claimed from this event.

Tulhurst Ace (Nathan Dawson)– Held up for a clear run to the finish.

Handsome Hero NZ (Chloe Butler)– Inclined to hang in when racing outside of the leader.

Race 5 - SUNSHINE STARS YEARLING SALE PACE  2138M

Zaras A Treasure (Brendan Barnes)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 300 m.

Bukthsystem (Leonard Cain) – Held up for a clear run to the finish

Mount Hercules (Chloe Butler)- Overraced and pulled hard when racing outside of the leader.

Race 6 - A ROCKNROLL DANCE AT SOMERSET FARMS PACE  1660M

Race 7 - SELECTIVE MOTORS ALBION PACE  1660M

Springfield Spirit (Jordan Topping)- Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.

Purple Shades (Nathan Dawson) – Held up for a clear run to the finish.

Race 8 - TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE  1660M

Williewa Lightning (Hayden Barnes)– Broke gait near the 1400 m. As a previous warning had been issued the gelding was stood down until it trials satisfactorily.

Maywyn Macduff (Kelli Dawson)– Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages. Held up for a clear run at a vital stage in the straight.

Race 9 - 1EQUINE ELECTROLYTES TROTTERS MOBILE  2138M

Kar Manor NZ (Riley Butt)– Galloped at the start. The gelding will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events until Stewards are satisfied it can perform in the desired manner.
