FOLLOWING a trend he has set all season, Ryan Hryhorec is once again in an enviable position ahead of the Southern Cross Finals.

Enjoying a season crammed with highlights, Hryhorec has captured numerous main events, including an unprecedented clean sweep of his home state’s country Trotters’ Cups.

In doing so Hryhorec became the first Australian trainer to achieve such a feat.

Hryhorec capped off the Cup Circuit by securing the ‘Grand Final’ – the SA Trotters’ Cup at Globe Derby.

In recent weeks Hryhorec’s focus has switched from squaregaiters to two-year-old pacers, with his team proving to be a cut above the rest.

Beginning with the Silver Salver Sale Final, Hryhorec then completed a clean sweep of the heat and Final of the Alabar Golden Nursery – including the trifecta in the decider!

A fortnight ago Hryhorec’s freshman – Jamaican Rock and Hes All Torque – filled the quinella in the Lordship Stake before returning to Globe Derby during the week to secure both Southern Cross heats.

With Dani Hill in the cart, Hes All Torque kicked-started the latest domination by registering a metre-and-a-half win from his former stablemate, Waitpinga Heritage.

Nicely Spoken, a stablemate of the winner, was two metres away third.

Taking his record to three wins and three seconds from seven starts, Hes All Torque rated 1:59.4 over 1800 metres, with his time eight-tenths of a second quicker than Jamaican Rock.

Driven by Hryhorec, Jamaican Rock scored by two metres from Rupert Ross, with Aintsobad three metres away third.

“I’ve got a pretty good hand in the Final, but you can never be too confident,” Hryhorec said.

“I have made no secret of the fact I believe Jamaican Rock is the best of them and he’s certainly the one to beat again.

“That said, Hes All Torque closed the gap a little and is more than capable of winning on the night.”
