It has been a big 24 hours for Bathurst horseman Nathan Turnbull.

After winning his first Group 1 at Menangle last night with Better Be The Best in the NSW Breeders Challenge Blue Final, the 40-year-old heads to Blayney’s Carnival of Cups today.

Turnbull has drives in seven of the eight races and as a trainer has nine horses nominated across the feature meeting.

It has been a strong year for Turnbull as both a trainer and driver, reaching personal milestones.

He obtained a century of winners for the first time in a season as a driver when successful with Sweet Annie at Canberra on November 7.

That victory also pushed his record as a trainer to 89 wins, another personal best.

Turnbull will compete against his dad, trainer Steve Turnbull and siblings Josh and Amanda in today’s main feature the Peter Marshall Memorial.

Turnbull’s charge Im Captain Max has drawn outside the second row.

The iForm best bets for Sunday:

Blayney best bet

Race 1: Logan Dream (2)

Should find the pegs and she looks to have more ability than her record suggests.  Can break through.

Blayney next best

Race 5: Yes You May (4)

Another that is a good chance to find the pegs and he can run a bold race from there.

Race 5: 4, 6,5,8

Race 6: 8,7,1,6
