World's first pacing-bred

While Tourello Standardbreds studmaster Kerrie Hymers has been accredited to be the breeder of what’s believed to be the world’s first pacing-bred Palomino, its not the only place she is breaking new ground.

In 2019, Tourello Standardbreds made the brave however very astute move to take their Victorian operation across bass strait to set up in Sheffield, Tasmania.

A town 23 kilometres inland from Devonport on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Sheffield has long been the rural hub for the Mount Roland area. The Sheffield area is well known for its high quality butterfat production via dairy farming. The area is also suitable for lamb and beef production and, thanks to the team at Tourello you can add the breeding of standardbred horses to the list of agricultural attributes.

Kerrie is a true inspiration to be around and the APG team are delighted we have the opportunity to represent her horses in the National Mixed that kicks off tomorrow.

Kerrie’s main message to those interested in her lots is that are all well-handled and cared for.
