Each year HRA National Awards are made in recognition of significant achievements and contributions of individuals to the industry. Each Award has established criteria, and the recipients are generally announced in October.  Awards cover several groups, and these include:

  • Media representatives

Recognition is also given to racing and breeding performances of Standardbred horses;  this is generally based on results achieved
in the season just completed, and criteria includes reference points such as prizemoney and wins.  Some Award categories are:
   
  • Harness Horse of the Year
  • Broodmare of the Year
     
  • Leading Pacing and Trotting Performers
  • Leading Sire(s)
